Project Jura is an initiative by dubail begert and Jura Tourisme to bring together 9 international architecture studios in one location for an experimental participatory project, to collaborate on the creation of a unique wilderness accommodation resort.

6 individual cabins, each one a unique design from a different studio and an outcome of the group’s creative collaboration. Project implementation is expected within 2015-2016 at the selected location, a dense forest inside the Saignelegier campsite area on the mountains of Jura.

Greece based LoT office for architecture and Berlin based KNOWSPACE joined forces on the design of a 60 m2 accommodation pavilion floating in between the trees of the dense forest of Saignelégier. The introverted pavilion accomodates a group of up to 8 people along the structure of an elevated ring in a communal dormitory-like setting. Access to the common areas, bathroom and kitchen, as well as to the entry climbing ladder, only happens through the middle courtyard and floor made of a flexible and permeable net.

The mesh presents a playful living area, just like a massive collective hammock, for gazing up to the sky and the tree tops. It creates a unique way of experiencing the forest and outdoor living.
